Bord
Everything that matters on the road.
On one screen.
A launcher for the Android head unit in your Duster1: the screen you see when you start the car, with your speed, the weather, online radio and the map, at a glance.

Made for the road.
A dark background that won’t dazzle you at night. Big numbers you can read at a glance. Big buttons that are easy to hit.

One screen. Everything that matters.
What you need on the road, big and clear, so you can take it in at a glance and keep your eyes on the road.
Speed at a glance.
Big digits, straight from GPS. Below: your heading and today’s drive, with distance, time and average speed.

Weather on the way.
Now and for the next few hours, wherever you are: temperature, what it feels like outside and the wind.

Online radio, with the song title.
See what’s playing, on the radio or in other music apps. Find stations by name or import your own list from a USB stick. Your steering-wheel buttons work too.

Your apps, one tap away.
The bottom bar holds four apps of your choice. Long-press one to swap it. Everything else is one button away.

Two maps. Your choice.
Satellite, with the roads drawn on top, or a dark street map. North up, or turning with your car. Tap the map to open your navigation app.

Settings that make sense.
Big switches, like on your phone: language, map type, rotation, navigation app and icons, in Bord style or the originals.

New versions arrive on their own.
Once a day, when it’s online, Bord checks for a new version and offers to install it.

Any car
We start from your head unit: its screen, its platform and the apps it already has.
Features on demand
Whatever you need on the road: different cards, specific apps, steering-wheel controls. Tell us, and we’ll see what your unit allows.
Your look
Colors, icons and layout to your taste. For businesses and fleets, with your company name and logo.
Setup and updates
We help you install it, and new versions arrive on their own, just like with Bord.
The price depends on the head unit and the features. We’ll quote you after a short chat, in English or Romanian.
Installed in minutes.
Bord isn’t on Google Play. You install it directly from the APK file.
- 1
Download
Open this page in the head unit’s browser and tap “Download for free”. Or copy Bord.apk to a USB stick.
- 2
Install
Open the file. If Android asks, allow installs from this source.
- 3
Choose Bord
Press the Home button, pick Bord, then “Always”.
- 4
Make it yours
Pick your language in Settings. Optionally, give Bord “Notification access” to see what’s playing in other apps and your navigation directions.
Have Bord 2.1? Uninstall it first. Newer versions are signed with a different key and can’t be installed over it.
You can always go back to the original screen: pick another home app in Android settings, or uninstall Bord.

Questions
Found a bug or have an idea? Tell us on GitHub, with a photo of the screen and your head-unit model.
Report an issueWhat is a launcher?
It is the app that draws your head unit’s main screen: what you see when you start the car or press Home. Bord replaces the original one without changing the system, and all your other apps stay where they are.
Is Bord an official Dacia app?
No. Bord is an independent project by Autofreon. It has no connection with Dacia, Renault Group or the head-unit maker. The Dacia Duster name is only used to say which car it was tested in.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Bord is free, with no ads and no subscription.
Do I need internet?
Not for speed and distance: they come from GPS. Radio, maps, weather and updates need internet, for example a hotspot from your phone or a SIM card in the head unit.
Can I listen to stations from my country?
Yes. Bord comes with a list of Romanian stations, but you can add any station by searching for it by name, or import your own .m3u list from a USB stick.
What data does Bord send?
Bord has no account and sends nothing to us. To show maps, weather and your town, the head unit asks public services directly (Esri, OpenStreetMap, CARTO, Open-Meteo, BigDataCloud), which therefore see your approximate location. For cover art it asks iTunes Search about the song that is playing, and for updates it checks GitHub. Each service has its own privacy rules.
Will it work in my car?
Probably, on many Android 6.0+ head units with a landscape screen. But we have only tested it in a Duster, so we can’t promise it will look or work right on other models. If you want one made for your car, see custom launchers.
How do I go back to the original screen?
In Android settings, pick another default home app, or uninstall Bord. Your head unit goes back to its own screen.
Support the project.
Bord is free and will stay free. If you find it useful, you can support its development with a donation.
Donations are voluntary and don’t come with any services or rights in return.
Made in Romania, by Autofreon.
Bord is built at Autofreon, a small car A/C and battery workshop in Periș, near Bucharest.
